May Day  is the single factor that connects and unifies working people all over the world.

-Modern buildings, towers, bridges, highways and under-sea tunnels .

-Food and clothing for all of us.

All these symbolize the sincerity and dedication of many people who spent their energy and time for making these memorable and historical monuments. That's why it is aptly called as Labor Day also.

May Day also denotes the emergency situation when calls of MAY DAY are made for the affected areas to seek help from any quarters. So MAY DAY also conveys the same Save Our Soul(SOS) message.

One who forgets the duty is said to be a robber.

Because, a person leads an idle life if without contributing anything to the world, he actually lives  at the cost of others,

Sports

Sports is the necessity of our life. It recharges your body while refreshes the mind.
Have any sports ...indoor or field sports.

That's why the popular statement" Take Everything in a Sportive way".

Because, you don't get upset by the shortcomings of any actions you take when you feel that the failure in another way of learning in life.

Duty

Each person has a duty for his own and for others.

But who fears for the consequences of the duty, that person is shying away from duty.

That's why Lord Krishna made the spiritual discourse " Bhagvad Gita" to the dejected warrior Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. That became the guide for human life .

Saving for the exigency and the future is the best option to protect your family.

The traditional method is to keep aside a part of earnings as Reserve (business firm) or bank deposits (individuals and non-profit institutions).

Modern and the current method is to spend first ,that too not from the current income but from future earnings.  You wonder how!

That is the old saying in Tamil .It implies that even when we speak anything in a closed room, the possibility is there that you will be overheard by others, especially by your enemies.

In the modern world, we have cameras and bugs to record your activities.

When we have good habits and transparent actions, no need to worry about these spying tricks.

Freedom

Nobody has the absolute freedom in this world which is an essential for an Ideal world. 

This is the indication of Google's Transparency report that reveals the requests of countries for censoring the contents of Google.

The top five countries are Brazil, USA, Germany, India and Turkey.
Totally 2285  requests were received from several governments to remove the objectionable contents from Google properties including You tube and search pages. 

Gullible

As long as people are gullible, anybody can take them for a ride.

That is the reason for many scams , frauds, forgery, embezzlements and con misappropriations taking place all over the world. Example are Watergate (US), Coalgate (India), etc....

Only when the alertness is created in the minds of people, all these anti-social and financial crimes can be curtailed.

But the root cause of all these evils is the greed for money.

Pride

Do You Know Who Am I ?

This is what some people use to tell when things don't happen in their favour. 

Actually this is an expression of self pride only. It's another way of showing off or threatening  the opponents.

The simplest and casual way to answer such query is " Whether you have forgotten your identity?.

But the professional reply always tends to be " Sir, Let me see whether I can help you ".

Handicap

Many people think that having some problem in the body is the physical disability or Handocappedness.

But many well grown people tend to be handicapped. 
What else you will call the following misbehaviors?

1) Throwing the empty cola cans onto the road
2) Driving the car to the gym which is hardly 100 meters from the house.
3) Spitting in the public place.

Recently a couple travelled along with my family to Pune, India.
They conducted themselves in a more civilized way : one example -shut the door of the A/c coach without a thud. Reached their place safely.

What is so special in the above , you may think.

The couple is a set of blind people.

Ideal World

Why we, human beings, don't have absolute freedom like birds?
No bird or animal has ever claimed any right to own a land, building or forest. However, they can freely fly or move to other countries or continents at will. This freedom can be called as " Absolute Freedom." 

Human beings make all the fuss about wealth and health. 

Why don't we think of an ideal world ?

The ideal world should have the following salient features.
Sole or ONE Nation: The best of minds from all walks of life as Politics, Religion, Administration, etc.. will be pooled to assist the leaders elected by the citizens of the One-Nation. There will be one local and elected government for each continent.
Soulful Religion: The citizens of ideal world will have the Liberty to practice the religions they like but they will be supervised to ensure amity.
Caste less citizen: Each person will have the identity as a citizen only while religion will be treated as a personal matter. There will not be any discrimination based on caste, creed or race.
Peace and Prosperity: Development and welfare of the citizens will be the sole aim of the single nation. 

When an Ideal world is formed, even God will praise us and take pride in His creations.

Ornament

"The ornament of the night is the moon,that of the day is the sun.
The ornament of the devotee is devotion, that of devotion is knowledge.
The ornament of knowledge is meditation and that of meditation is renunciation."

Death

 Though in good health, a sudden fear of death took hold of the boy Venkataraman.
 He felt he was going to die.

Immediately, he lay down with his limbs stretched out and holding them stiff as though death had set in. He withheld his breath and kept his lips tightly closed, so that to all outward appearance his body resembled a corpse. Now, what would happen? This was what he thought:

"Well, this body is now dead. It will be carried to the burning ground and there burnt and reduced to ashes. But with the death of this body, am I dead? Is the body I? This body is silent and inert. But I feel the full force of my personality and even the voice of the "I" within me, apart from it. So I am the Spirit transcending the body. The body dies but the Spirit that transcends it cannot be touched by death. That means "I "am the deathless Spirit. "

The above incident led him to the realization of SELF which is called ATMA ( Sanskrit equivalent for the Soul) and which is actually the property of God.

Religion

Each religion calls the same God by different names. Just like calling the same water as the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic and Indian oceans.

How could there be different Gods?

We have only One Sky, One Earth, One Water, One Fire and One Air. These five elements are called as "Panchaboothas" in Sanskrit.

Again, all human beings are made up of the same structure: one head, two arms, two legs and one body. Only the color and size of each of us varies from one region to another and among the individuals.

All religions actually show the pathways to reach God by sharing and helping others like different routes, whether Rail, Road or Air, makes you reach the same destination.

Therefore, let us use our religion as a medium for fostering peace, integrity and happiness of all that exist on our earth.

The significance of religion as a life enhancer can be well understood as it is mentioned in Bhagvad Gita, the holy scripture of Hindus.

Haste

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is achieved.

This is what Lao Tzu, an ancient  Chinese philosopher, said about the human tendency to hurry.

So never do anything , even eating or sleeping, in a hurry. Because the sense of haste always leads to waste only. A person who makes rash driving is bound to face the penalty of accident one day or another.

Petrichor

The pleasant smell that we get after the first rain ending a dry spell is known as Petrichor.
When the organic substances like nitrates and other carbon compounds  react with the rain water and produce the vapour of this sweet smell .This vapour is carried by the wind and reaches our nose.

Everyone will like this smell and some relish when experienced after a long time.

But we don't get that sweet smell after heavy rain as the organic substances  are washed away .

These organic substances are the product of decomposition process when the microbes and earthworms of the soil feed on the dead plants and animals. 

Pardon

If you know how to forgive a person for a mistake, then you are a great person .

But more often you pardon the mistakes of others, I am sure that you would become a godly person.

In that process, you spread peace and happiness to those around you.

People good at heart will never have any ego or pride. 
They tend to be flexible, open minded and available for all like a Tree that, though taller than any other things, never hesitates to provide shadow , shelter and food  to whoever approaches it. 

Ego-minded persons always keep a distance from and also find fault with others for their mistakes. 
They pretend to be good but harbor bad intentions within. They act like a Bouncing ball .

Present

Many people are too worried about their past and future.

Instead, they should strive to live the present and running time.

Because, present is the only thing you have on hand: neither you could modify the past that is already gone nor you can do for the future which is yet to come. 

In other words, Past and Future are beyond your control and in fact, darkness only.

Use it right now  or never.

Rainwater

Depending on the place where it falls on the earth, rainwater changes its nature.
Good if falls in clean river and Bad when mixes with sewerage.
Remains colorless and pure upon mingling  with the river or becomes muddy when gets absorbed in clay soil.

The same applies to us also. During birth, everyone is same and pure.
But the person changes into good or bad due to the environment and circumstances in which the person grows.

Apperance

Never judge a person by the outward appearance .

Also do not decide a person's character by a sample .

I have met several people who are so simple and humble that you will mistake them as illiterates or poor.

One good example is Late Mr Kamarajar, Ex-Chief Minister of TamilNadu State, India.

He used to wear cotton white shirts with white dhoti (traditional wear of the state) for the bottom. The shirt had sagging sleeves extending to three fourth of the hand. Though he had not studied as much as he belonged to a poor family, he possessed the natural intuition and intellect coupled with pleasing and all caring manners.

He was an able and clever administrator and also aptly called as South India's Gandhi.
He also played a pivotal role in the Congress party and he was popularly known as KING MAKER in political circles of that time.

Signature

How many signature a person will have?

The correct answer is 'ONE'.

Some people are Smart to themselves that they have more than one signature.

Some are still smarter as they use to sign in different languages.

The Smartest group can make the signatures of other people.

The smartness is meant for cheating others including banks.

Actually such smart people have no moral or ethical values in their life.

So you can judge a person by the number of signatures.

Mindset

Joy and Grief are the integral parts of our Life.

They are like Light and Shadow. As long light exists, shadow will also follow.

But Light or Sun never has a shadow of themselves.

That is the truth of life.

If you understand this, you will have balacned approach which makes you undisturbed by anything and lead a happy and peaceful life.

Ultimate

Life is an interaction between Mind and Nature.

But ultimately, Nature only wins.

These non-believers of God come to realize the existence of the Almighty when they face shortcomings or big jolts in life or when death approaches them.

I know many politcians who preach atheism but secretly pray to God.

Which came first: Egg or Chick? 

A puzzle for a long time that remains clueless.

On the same footing, these questions arise.

Tree comes from Seed or tree produces seed?

" Who am I " , "Where we come from during birth" , "To  where we go after death", " Why so much variation among us by way of color or size or shape", etc...

Then the answer is definitely .......GOD.

Our life is like this blank space above : we do not know why it's there empty unless we fill something  there.

Life becomes null and void if we don't take efforts to make it meaningful.

So do something when you are healthy and awake. It can be as Working in a factory, Teaching in a school or doing Driver job, etc...

Lies

For doing good things like protecting an honest person or helping a hard worker, you can speak lies.

Even to promote a good cause, you write lies.

Then how can you cultivate the good habits if you don't encourage them.

Poetry is actually a work of lies.

Similarly most of the fables and folk songs are born of bluff only.

Why this yellow metal always glitters: not only in shine but also in price.

What is so special about this? People go crazy for this metal .

This is the universal phenomenon that unites everybody irrespective of creed, caste or religion or region, poor or rich, literate or otherwise.

India is a country with lot of statues of political leaders in each nook and corner of the place.

Another major problem is the hardships to the general public by way of traffic diversion and jam when the followers or new leaders remember these statues by garlanding on birth and death days.

Today I had experienced this problem in Chennai when the Chief Minister happened to pay homage to an old stalwart. The statues is situated in an important and arterial road junction.

The entire city traffic, that too peak and office hour, came to a halt for about one hour.
This happened in the hot summer. 

So called leaders  never mind the inconvenience to the public who voted them to power.

My definition for TIME is Tricky Iirreversible Moment Ever :Because time is elusive,faster and never retractable.

We can buy anything but not Time.Such is the value of time.So Time is precious and invaluable.

The significance of Time is realized by many people only after they suffer from it.

Any action that is not done in the right time is bound to have unfavorable or even adverse impact.

Scheduling various works  based on your  priority  is the vital aspect of planning for a stress-free and happy life.Such scheduled format is called as Time Table.Can you imaging what will be the consequences if Railways or Airways don't draw schedules for the arrival and departures?.

In 1930, economist John Maynard Keynes  had  postulated that the world would replace work with leisure by  2030. Which meant people would work shifts that last 3 hours and working week would span  15 hours.

His theory seem to be not far away...as Labour leaders are advocating " work smart and short. So to increase jobs"

In 1962, NASA lost about $80 million due to the grammar error.

A single missing  hyphen in the coding used to set trajectory and speed caused the craft Mariner 1(America's first interplanetary probe) to explode  minutes after take off.

Motion

When an object remains still,  calmness prevails.
But when it sets into motion or action, sound is created .

Only in steady motion or stillness, constuctive activity occurs.

Honeybees stop buzzing when they are busy with honey collection.

A flight of bird or aircraft becomes faster when they move at steady pace.

So, if you have undulating behaviour instead of steady and balanced approach ,towards anything, you tend to feel exhausted .

Turbulence

A study has found that by the year2050, climatic change will affect aviation by increasing air turbulence and causing flights to get bumpier.

As a result, we will be seeing the "fasten seat belts" turned on more often in the decades ahead. Such turbulence causes delays and damages to the aircraft and the passengers.

Social medium

This has both advantages and minuses.

Good effect. One farmer in India could get the help and money pouring in from many parts of the world for treatment of his son's heart problem. This is with the help of Facebook post.

Bad effect. Many people have become rather addict to these media which have resulted in poor marks in exams, late night sitting, divorce of couple,etc..

So use the social media for betterment of self and others: but at the cost of personal life.

Gain

A chick within a egg has limited space and freedom.
But when emerges out from the egg, it stands to possess the entire world as own.

Likewise a person gets to enjoy the whole world if he comes out of his possessive character.

Reap the benefits of sharing rather than staying within your circle.

Stability

Sea water never gets reduced : whether taken away by clouds or filled by rivers.

Likewise universe remains same whether one galaxy crashes or new ones are filled either by man made ( satellites, sky lab, station,etc..) or natural.

Similarly, our innate being( soul or atma ) remains unchanged despite the numerous and enormous troubles and feelings are experienced by it.

So, it's great that the Self is always there.

It's disheartening to note that the world is wasting a lot of fossil fuel(gasoline) everyday.

It's a irony that on one hand, people and leaders talk of Conservation of fossil fuel and on the other hand, for the unmindful spending the scarce fuel .

Why so many private vehicles on the road for going to office .That too with only one person travelling in each of these vehicles. This creates a lot of problems in many ways.

Money wasted while the fuel reserves get depleted faster.

Pollution and the resultant ecological and health problems are the next.

Why not the governments think of passing laws to make 
1) Private vehicles can be used if the same carries the full load, either as passengers or as cargo
2) Otherwise, only mass and public transport of Govt or Private owenership be used .

The above shall be enforced for the peak hours travel only.

Freedom is welcome but not at the cost of our own future.
